Grab & Go Kids Planner: Irish Charms, Dr. Seuss and Dance Re-Mix

Always on a quest for something to do with your children? Each week Patch brings you a list of kid-friendly events in Bayport-Blue Point and nearby.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try  with children.

Families today are time-pressed, so Patch is happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable driving distance.

  • March Take Home Craft

Teens in grades 6-12 can stop by the reference desk anytime during the month of March to ask for a free take home craft - Irish charm necklace.

  • Dr. Seuss's Birthday - March 2

Grab your favorite Dr. Seuss book and go read with your child.

 

  • Bayport-Blue Point Little League Baseball and Softball Clinics - March 2

These weekly clinics help prepare children for the upcoming season.  There is no charge for the clinic, which is geared towards students in pre-k through eighth grade.

Boys and girls baseball clinic is at : T-ball and Farm League 6 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. and Single A through AAA 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Girls softball clinic is at : K-1, 6 p.m. -7 p.m.; grades 2-4, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.; grades 5-8, 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

 

  • Young Adult Indoor Sports - March 3, 4 p.m.-4:45 p.m.

Teens in grades 6-12 can register for this heart-pumping program guaranteed to give you a great work out.

 

  • Suffolk County PAL Tennis & Dance Programs - March 4, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Register at Eastern Athletic Club for the March and April Programs.

Tennis - Five - one hour beginner/advance beginner lessons.  Children from grades 1-12 are grouped by grade with a maximum of 6 kids per class.  Cost is $138 and starts the week of March 14.

Dance Re-Mix - For children grades 3-8 grouped by grade.  10 one hour dance classes covers a variety of moves, steps and styles.  $138 for this program that starts the week of March 14.'

 

  • Children Program Registration - March 5, 11 a.m.

Make sure you log into the web site with your child's library card to register for the many terrific and free classes the library offers for babies from three-months-old to children in the fifth grade.

  

  • Pre-school Open House - March 7, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

United Church Pre-school is a cooperative learning program for children ages 3 to 5 years old.  Stop by the open house to see what the school has to offer.
