Girl Scout Flash Mob Draws Honks, Applause & Fans

The unique 'girl' celebration rocks four corners in Sayville.

A Girl Scout flash mob celebration of International Day of the Girl was a huge success, with dozens of scouts meeting up at the four corners in Sayville Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and doing a dance as motorists drove by honking in support.

"So many girls came out to dance and to be a part of history! The girls were so excited and the smiles on their faces lit up the streets of Sayville," said Senior GS Troop 910 Leader Laura Heaney, who organized the first-ever event.

In addition to having fun and sharing an important message, every scout donated a $1 to support the Juliette Lowe World Friendship Fund.
