1. Community Dinner

Why Go: Like hot dogs? What about real dogs? Blue Point Elementary School Peer Leaders and the Blue Point-Bayport Lions Club are sponsoring a Hot Dog for a Guide Dog Community Dinner.

Pricing: All proceeds will be donated to the Guide Dog Foundation. Everyone is welcome.

2. Chinese Auction

Where/When: ; April 29, 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

Why Go: Tired of being cooped up after this long winter? Looking for a great inexpensive way to get out and socialize and  have some fun? Come to the B-BP Community Lions Clubs Chinese Auction. Doors open at 6:30 for previews. 

Pricing: $10 (includes 25 raffle tickets)

3. Media Arts Workshop

Where/When: , 67 W Main St, Patchogue; April 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Why Go: The Plaza Media Arts Center will be presenting a master workshop with Anisa Mehdi. With 25 years in news and documentary filmmaking from Malaysia to Iran to Santa Cruz, CA, Anisa has been on the forefront of reporting on the impact of religion on society and politics. Anisa will bring her expertise in production and interpersonal skills to this master class. She'll share stories and film clips describing her transition from television news to long-form production. She'll take time to hear your concerns and give guidance from a deep well of professional practice. Come prepared to workshop your ideas.

Pricing: Tickets are $85 and include a catered brunch by the Brick House Brewery.

4. Live Music

Where/When: ; April 30, 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

Why Go: Deborah Lombardi and her band play several sets from 9:30pm-12:30am. Hear songs from her CD "On The Fringe" and her forthcoming CD "Sweet Revenge!"

Pricing: $5 cover. 21 and over.

5. Dance for Autism

Where/When: ; May 1, 1 p.m.

Why Go: Proceeds from ADTLI's annual fundraising performance "Dance for Autism" go towards the Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism Association. Show will feature student choreographed dances, a student art sale and refreshments.
