Lecture Series

Why Go: Friends of Connetquot will present the third of their 2011 Lecture Series on the History of Horse Drawn Carriages. Jerry Trapani is an experienced professional farrier and noted competitor carriage driver who founded the Paumanok Driving Club of LI. He is also a member of the Carriage Association of  America. Jerry will relate the colorful history of  Horse Drawn Carriages from New York City to The Great South Bay.

Pricing: Admission and refreshments are free.

Memorial Service

Where/When: , 27 Handsome Ave, Sayville; Sept. 11, 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m.

Why Go: A Firematic Memorial Service will be held to remember three local fire department members who responded to the scene of the attacks at the World Trade Center: Lincoln Quappe, Sayville FD-FDNY; Glen Pettit, West Sayville FD/NYPD; and Glenn Wilkinson-Bayport FD/FDNY.
