Elementary Fun Run

Where/When: ; June 3, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Third, fourth and fifth-grade Academy Street students participate.

Garage Sale

Where/When: 11 Cole Court, Bayport; June 4, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Why Go: Who can resist at least peeking at the goods on display as they drive past a garage sale? This family is selling furniture, household items, books and much more at their Saturday sale.

Plant Sale

Where/When: 63 Gillette Avenue, Bayport; Daily, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Why Go: Here is your oppurtunity to purchase beautiful perennials locally grown by the members of Neighbors and Gardeners of Bayport and Blue Point. All perennials are reasonably priced at $5. The proceeds from the plant sale benefit the work of the organization's beautification of the Bayport-Blue Point Community. 

Silent Sports Memorabilia Auction

Where/When: Prince of Peace Regional Catholic School, Sayville; June 4, 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

Why Go: Sports fans will be allowed to bid on authentic autographed memorabilia from great sports legends such as Joe Montana, Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Reggie Jackson. The New York Giants, the New York Jets, the Buffalo Bills, the New York Islanders, the Long Island Ducks and the Brooklyn Cyclones, among other teams, have also committed to donating packages to the fundraiser. Local organizations have donated packages for group outings including a foursome with lunch at Island Hills Golf Club, a VIP bowling party for 10 at AMF Sayville Lanes and 16 tickets to your choice of a Long Island Rough Riders’ soccer game.

 There will be food, raffles, games and prizes available, and children can meet the Pax the Teddy Bear.

Pricing: Admission is free; a goodwill offering is suggested. The first 200 families in attendance will receive a free car wash voucher (a $22 value), courtesy of Bohemia Hand Wash, and a $25 coupon courtesy of Sports Authority. Other sponsors include Sayville’s Seacrest Palace Diner and Marc Anthony Pizza. All proceeds will go directly to the immediate financial and educational needs of the school.
