Get Out: Flo's Opens for Season, Residents Win 'Big Bucks', Class of 2013 Holds 5K

Flo's Season Opening

Where/When: ; Saturday, May 14.

Why Go: Flo's Luncheonette opens for the season on Saturday. Head down to the "famous" B-BP food stop for some beachside fare.

Pricing: Depends on food/drink choice.

Bayport FD Event

Where/When: ; Sunday, May 15, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Could you use $50,000? The Bayport Fire Department invites you to be among the 50 winners in their Big Bucks Bonanza. They are in their twenty-first year and have given away over $2 million. Tickets are limited to 2,000 and all early wining tickets will be placed back into the pot for all prizes. The predrawing party begins at 2 p.m., the drawing starts at 3:30 p.m., and is concluded by 5 p.m. 

Pricing: Your $100 donation includes entrance for two people over the age of 21, a full compliment of refreshments and live band. Winners do not have to be present to win.

5K for Sarcoma

Where/When: ; Sunday, May 15; Race begins at 9 a.m., check-in at 7 a.m.

Why Go: This is a 5k race/walk for the Class of 2013 and The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative. The route is a flat and fast course. Categories include: Top 3 overall, Top Master, 18 & Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over. Gift Certificates & merchandise from local businesses will be raffled off.

Pricing: Entry fee is   $25. T-shirts and bracelets will be handed out first come first serve, unless you pre-register.

Library Music Event

Where/When: ; Sunday, May 15, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Listen and dance to the swing band, Moonlight Serenaders. Their style includes the music of the Big Band Era.
