Get Fit & Get a Free Pass for Sayville Charity 5K

Walk to Run Fitness has a deal for those wanting to get in shape. Join up and the fitness company will pay for your registration in a special Sayville 5K race.

Walk To Run Fitness will be offering a new incentive for people who want to get fit for the fast approaching summer season. The company is offering to pay for your entrance fee to the Sayville Shwachman Diamond 5k race when you join the Walk/Run beginner fitness program starting this April.

After you complete the fitness program and learn how to run or walk/run your first 5k, your admission to the charity event is paid for by the company.

The fitness program, Walk Your Way to Running a 5k, teaches participants how to build their cardiovascular and muscular endurance with short segments of running and walking, slowly increasing the running distance each week.

Over the 11 week training period, the fitness class meets with owner Kiersten Bartolotta who will train the group and keep them motivated to work out on a regular basis.

At the completion of the program, the group will meet at the charity 5k race and support each other as they run the race and pass through the finish line. Bartolotta has guided over 200 beginner runners to complete their first 5k. She hopes to gather a new group for this race and introduce the to the love of being active and accomplishing their fitness goals.

The fitness program normally costs $200 plus the race registration which is usually between $20 and $25 dollars per person.

Bartolotta will be paying for the registration fees for all of her clients in this session to encourage them to make a healthy change for the upcoming summer. Ms. Bartolotta remarks,

"I think this will be an inspiring training group. We will all be running in a local race together for a cause that is so important to the Sayville community."

The 5k race also known as "Dash for a Cure," raises funds to support research for a cure of Shwachman Diamond Syndrome, a rare bone marrow failure syndrome that a little boy in the Sayville community was diagnosed with in 2001. The Kolar family, who are running enthusiasts, established a foundation for their son who suffers from the disease. The 5K race is now in its tenth year and is one of the Sayville Running Company's summer series.

The race is held each year at Sunrise Elementary school and will take place on Saturday, June 15 and includes a kid's fun run and the 5k walk/run event.

The fitness training program starts April 2 or April 3 at 6:30 p..m in Sayville. For more information or to register, please contact Walk To Run Fitness at www.walktorunfitness.com or 631-680-8225.

I always check out this website before starting a new fitness program - www.topfitnesssites.com - My personal favourite is p90x because it's hard enough that you know your getting results but not so hard that you give up after a few days

Thank you Sayville-Bayport Patch for posting. This will be a great training group so if you live local and always wanted to run or run/walk a 5k, let me train you to do it and pay for your race! The Shwachman Diamond 5k is a fun race and a great cause.
