Garden Tour Set for Saturday

Neighbors and Gardeners of Bayport-Blue Point organize biennial tour.

The Neighbors and Gardeners of Bayport-Blue Point are hosting their biennial this Saturday from noon-4 p.m.

Participants can visit seven local gardens in Bayport, Blue Point and neighboring Patchogue.

One stop on the tour will have raffle prizes and refreshments. The Neighbors and Gardeners of Bayport-Blue Point encourage residents to attend so they can enjoy the area's most beautiful gardens and perhaps get ideas for their own garden.

Tickets, which include the map of houses on the tour, can be purchased at Make Someone Happy, Bayport Flower Houses, Daisy Garden and Country Junque for $20, according Diana Walch, Garden Tour chairman and club treasurer.

The Neighbors and Gardeners maintain the cement planters along Montauk Highway and Blue Point Avenue as well as some flowers and trees on Nichols Road.

If you're interested in joining the club, the group meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of every month at the in Blue Point. Each month, the club invites a guest speaker to deliver a presentation on a specific garden-related topic. Meetings are open to anyone.
