Fundraiser Today Honors the Memory of Sayville Fifth Grader

The event at Sweet Frog will raise monies for the Chordoma Foundation in honor of Cameron Riccomini.

A special fundraiser in the memory of a Cherry Avenue Elementary student will be held Tuesday at the Sweet Frog frozen yogurt store on Sunrise Highway in Sayville.

The event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., will raise funds for the Chordoma Foundation in honor of Cameron Riccomini, a fifth grader who lost a valiant battle to the cancer this weekend.

The 10-year-old's courageous story can be read here.

A  posting on Facebook states “Anyone who had the privilege to meet him would tell you what an amazing, brave boy he was, and how he managed to touch the lives of so many in our community.”

Those attending can have their pictures taken with Cookie & Scoop (times: 3:45 p.m., 6 p.m, and 7:30 p.m), spin the prize wheel and enter to win the Yogurt for a Year Raffle.

A percent of the entire day’s sales, plus all the money from the prize wheel and raffle, will go to the foundation in Cameron’s name.
