Former Sayville Library Will be New Home for Unitarians

The building will soon be the new home for a church.

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bellport is buying the former Sayville Library building. The congregation vote on the move was 25 yes, 1 no and 1 abstained vote, according to the group's website. The UUFB has been housed in the Fellowship Hall behind the Sayville Congregational Church of Christ on Middle Road in Sayville.

I'm so happy that the building is going to be used, as a Sayville native, I hated seeing it empty. Wishing the UU much success in their new home.

Although I miss the old library that I grew up with, its current vacant position is a sorry reflection upon our beautiful town. I agree with Mary and am glad it will soon be filled. Good luck!

Details on what the building was sold for versus what tax payers were told it would go for by BOE?

Hi Lynn, Patch did a story that I didn't realize had been written before I put up the photo today. I've been here two weeks and still catching up. Here is the link to the story and hope it covers your request on details. If not, email me at judy.mottl@patch.com http://patch.com/A-rLvJ
