Easter Celebrations Happening This Weekend

Local parish events include Great South Bay service and some egg hunting fun.

Local parishes are holding Easter service celebrations this weekend and community groups have some fun planned for the younger crowd.

Here's a look at Easter holiday events taking place between West Sayville and Blue Point this weekend.

Sayville Congregational Church, Sayville
The parish will once again celebrate Easter Sunday with a sunrise service on the Great South Bay. Dress warmly, bring a blanket, and join parishioners at the Sayville Ferry terminal at 6 am. Pancakes will be served in the Fellowship Hall after this service. Celebration of the Resurrection is at the church at 10.15am

Bayport-Blue Point Chamber Egg Hunt
The annual children's egg hunt event will take place at 10 a.m. today at Corey Beach in Blue Point.

The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce Spring Festival
The annual egg hunt is just one of many activities happening today at Gillette Park in Sayville.

The Easter Bunny will be on hand from noon to 2 p.m. at the Common Ground, rain or shine. New event chairperson Beth Bodenmiller has lots of activities planned including a scavenger hunt, magic show and face painting fun.
