Don't Miss: Pizza With the Pastor Event

The children's program will take place Monday, March 25 for third graders through eighth graders

Ever wonder how to explain the crucifixion and resurrection to your child in a way that doesn't involve blood, gore and an angry god?

Pastor Gary of Sayville Congregational United Church of Christ will bring a progressive and historically accurate view of these important events to an age appropriate evening with kids from 3rd to 8th grade.

Pizza with Pastor is free and open to member and non-member families alike, and will take place on Monday, March 25 from 6 p.m. to 8pm to coincide with the start of Holy Week. Please RSVP with the Church Office, churchadmin@sayvilleucc.org or call 631.589.1519.

And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.
