Crickets Hosts Cookies With Santa

Sponsored by Chamber of Commerce, it's another opportunity to see Santa in Sayville.

Santa has been spending an awful lot of time in Sayville this year. He must be keeping a close on all of us. Did you sit on Santa's lap at the a few weeks ago? Did you catch him at the Prince of Peace School last weekend? Maybe you got his ear while he rode by boat to the Long Island Maritime Museum's Jingle Bell Walk?

Hopefully, even if you missed those events, you were able to sit on Santa's lap, tell him your wishlist and enjoy some treats as hosted Cookies with Santa recently.

There were plenty of cookies as well as face time with the bearded man, as the line wasn't as long as year's past and definitely beat out going to the mall. And don't forget about the free Crickets popcorn!

Sponsored by the , Crickets has been hosting the event for about 10 years, according to owner Peter Moreno. "It definitely helps business so it's a win-win for everyone," Moreno said.

He added, "We used to do the event in the afternoon but we kind of found the place was being taken over all day. So we decided to switch it to the mornings from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and it has become more manageable for the staff and those dining here. Aside from the , this is definitely one of the busiest days of the year."
