Bryan's Bridge in Sayville Getting a Needed Revamp

New lights are a safety measure for road work effort.

Don't let the newly installed traffic lights on Middle Road in Sayville at Bryan's Bridge cause any concern. The signals are a temporary safety measure as Suffolk County officials begin rebuilding the bridge, according to the county.

The bridge was initially built in 1937, according to the county, and is now being replaced because as it has exceeded it’s useful life given it has a limited capacity of 20 tons. County officials said an inspection performed by LKB Engineering to evaluate the bridge detailed that the structure should be replaced based on a life cycle cost analysis.
