Book Launch, Mosquito Control Activity Happening In Sayville-Bayport

Book Launch Event

Author Christine Eagan, a Bayport resident, will hold her official book launch at Lands End in Sayville from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. She is the author of "The Healthy Girl's Guide to Breast Cancer" which is focused on taking the fear out of a terrifying diagnosis and empowers women to take control of their treatment. Part memoir and part practical guide, Certified health coach Egan chronicles her one-year unthinkable journey with breast cancer and details the traditional and non-traditional treatments she underwent on the path to wellness.

Vector Control Activities

Weather permitting, the Suffolk County Department of Public Works will treat Fire Island communities as part of its ongoing annual effort to control the mosquito population. The Fire Island Pines will be treated from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a ground spraying of ultra-low-volume aerosol of Anvil (sumithrin).
