Bone Marrow Drives Happening in Sayville

Two bone marrow drives are being held this week and next in Sayville to help a local resident battling leukemia.

One drive will be held June 7 at the Sayville Bowling alley from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The second is set for June 13 at the Sayville Fire Department from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Dean Monaco, whose wife is a teacher in the Patchogue-Medford School district, is in need of a bone marrow transplant. His family is helping organize a half a dozen local marrow drives to help him find a suitable donor.
