Bayport-Blue Point's 2011 Memorial Day Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. on Monday. Spectators can gather along Middle Road; the marching route will take parade participants from Connetquot Road to Bayport Memorial Park, where local fire departments will conduct a ceremony to honor those who served in the armed forces. No stranger to keeping up traditions, Bayport Fire Department has sponsored the parade since the end of World War II.
Head to Middle Road before 11 a.m. to claim a prime viewing spot.
