Awaiting the Blizzard: Grey Skies, Cold Rain Blanket South Shore

Little traffic except at gas pumps and just a few hardy gulls at town beaches.

As residents between Blue Point and West Sayville await the arrival of Nemo, supposedly the first blizzard of 2013 (and hopefully only), Patch took a slow ride around town and down by the shore to see the sights.

Cold sleeting rain pelted Foster Avenue docks where just a few hardy gulls swirled looking for food.

Beach homes just east of Foster Avenue docks are still littered with remnants and debris from October's super storm Sandy.
