First up is a local library program that can get those brown thumbs turning green:

Topiary Workshop
Bayport-Blue Point Library
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Phyllis Chan Carr will guide you in making a basic, yet elegant topiary using ivy, a clay pot and a wire frame. Please bring the following to class: lightweight wire cutters, garden shears and a pair of gardening gloves. Fee: $10 payable by check only.
