Visions for Vacancies: Sprinkles Ice Cream

Patch asks residents what type of business would be a good fit for this vacant storefront on Montauk Highway in Blue Point.

Sprinkles of Blue Point hasn't been selling its ice cream, or anything for that matter, since it closed several months ago. The site of the former business at 168 Montauk Highway, Blue Point currently has no for rent/sale sign and no apparent construction is being done. For now, the space sits vacant, the Sprinkles sign still up.

A "Coming Soon" sign for cheesesteak joint Beyond Philly is showcased in the Sprinkles window, but no information on that possibility can be gathered at this time.

As only one of several vacant storefronts in the Bayport-Blue Point area, Patch would like to know what our readers envision for the space once occupied by Sprinkles.

So tell us, what vision do you have for this vacant space- a bagel shop, or specialty store? Let us know what you think in the comments.

How about a Health Food Store? We could certainly use one in our own neighborhood, but of course, I would think that!

Yes, we just got an update that the store will be changing into Beyond Philly. We'll provide more information on this as soon as possible.

You just got that update? That sign has been in the window for over a year. You need a faster connection! :)
