Round up from Eastern States, big win over rival Harborfields

After returning from yet another prestigious New York State tournament in better shape than they left, the Golden Grapplers got back down to business in League V this week.

Sayville had five wrestlers still standing heading into the second day of the Eastern States Classic, a tournament that is considered by many to be a precursor to the state championships, including Matt Leshinger at 112 lbs. and Rich Millwater at 160.

The Golden Flashes pounded league adversary Harborfields, winning 52-12, in a match that saw five Tornadoes pinned. Luke Ciancimino earned a major decision for his 11-3 drubbing of Eric Rafferty at 130 lbs. as well for Sayville.

Sayville's pins came courtesy of some names they've come to expect great things from this season, including Pesko (119), Siracusa (125), Payne (135), Millwater (171) and Hull (189).
