Islip Shelter Animals of the Week

Senior and Gracie are both looking for a caring home.

The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family.  The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets.

Senior

Senior may be on the older side but he is still one giddy kitty. With his short black-and-white colored coat, he is best described as short, dark and handsome. Senior is a domestic adult male cat and the Islip Animal Shelter says Senior still has plenty of life in him.

Although the shelter describes him as spunky, Senior has a soft side and is affectionate and gentle. This cool cat loves to soak up the sun and enjoys snuggling up to a warm spot near a window.

The shelter invites anyone who has a warm spot in their heart to stop by the shelter and meet Senior. He is neutered and up-to-date on all of his shots and vaccinations. Senior's pet ID tag number is 4520.

Gracie

If you are more of a dog person, the Islip Animal Shelter would also love for you to come in and greet Gracie. She is an adult American Staffordshire Terrier mix.  She is looking for a family who will pay attention to how loving she is. The shelter describes Gracie as calm and sweet but she can also be playful.  And she can also be calmed on command if she gets a little too playful.

She enjoys being around people and loves the outdoors.  Gracie would make a great addition to any family looking for a companinion.  She is neutered and up-to-date with her routine shots and vaccinations. Her tag number is 2645.

All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet adoption fee along with a pet application which can be found on the their website.
