Historic Sayville Jeweler Closing Doors Come March

F. Stadtmuller Jewelers will shutter after 153 years in operation.

The decision to close was not easy but the owners of F. Stadtmuller Jewelers are doing just that to the family-operated historic jewelry business on Main Street in Sayville.

Stadtmuller, in operation since 1860, announced the closing a week ago and is now running a going out of business sale until it locks its doors for good on March 16. Everything is for sale, including furniture and store fixtures.

"We've got alot of people coming in and telling us how sad they are as they got their wedding bands and engagement rings and other special gifts from here," said a store employee.
