B-BP Crime Report: Property Damage, Drug and Weapon Charges

A list of recent police activity in Bayport and Blue Point as reported by the 5th Precinct.

 

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incidents list regarding Bayport-Blue Point. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions. 

Arrests

  • On Jan. 8, Tyler Hughes from Bayport was arrested in Bayport on a charge of leaving the scene of property damage and driving while intoxicated. Read the full story on Patch here.
  • Tyler Lovece from Bayport was arrested in  Blue Point on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon on Jan. 11.
  • Bayport resident William Fumai was arrested in Ronkonkoma on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance on Jan. 12.

Incidents

  • On Jan. 9, a burglary on Gerritsen Avenue in Bayport was reported to police at 8 a.m.
  • Police were alerted to a burglary on Railroad Street in Bayport at 9 a.m. on Jan. 11.
  • Suydam Lane residents in Bayport notified police of an incident of harassment at 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 13.
  • On the same day, another incident of harassment on Ira Place in Bayport was reported to police at 3 p.m.
  • Weeks Street residents in Blue Point alerted police of an incident of criminal mischief at 4 p.m. on Jan. 13.

Is it me or does Bayport sound like many other towns now? Seems like its lost it's luster a bit.

Burglaries everywhere! Every week I hear of a few more! Awful!
